This Privacy Policy explains how Findlly ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects your information when you use the Findlly application and website (the "Service"). By using Findlly you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what is needed to run the Service:
- Account data — your name, email address, mobile number and password when you create an account.
- Listing data — the title, description, category, photos, date and location you add to a lost or found ad.
- Location data — the map position you attach to an ad, and your city for search results.
- Messages — content you send through the in-app chat with other users.
- Usage data — device type, app version and basic diagnostics to keep the app stable.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to publish your ads, power search and filters, connect you with other users, send account and password-reset messages, prevent abuse, and improve the Service. We do not sell your personal data.
3. Location Data
Location is central to Findlly. The position you pin on an ad is shown publicly to help others find the item. You control the exact spot you place, and you can edit or remove it by editing or deleting the ad.
4. Communication & Contact Sharing
When you post an ad you choose which contact channels to enable: WhatsApp, phone number or private in-app chat. Any channel you enable is visible to users viewing your ad. Password and verification (OTP) messages may be delivered by email, SMS or WhatsApp through official providers such as the Meta WhatsApp Cloud API.
5. Sharing With Third Parties
We share data only with service providers who help us operate Findlly (such as hosting, email, SMS and WhatsApp messaging providers), and when required by law. These providers may process your data only on our instructions.
6. Data Retention
We keep your account and listing data while your account is active. Deleted ads may be retained for a short period to support recovery and abuse prevention, after which they are removed or anonymized.
7. Your Rights
You can access, correct or delete your account and ads at any time from within the app. To request full deletion of your data, contact us at the address below.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections and hashed passwords, to protect your information. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
Findlly is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this page, with an updated date at the top.
